Branches of Malaysian Government Malaysian government has three branches such as legislative, executive and judicial that helps in ruling the country. They are doing all the works to make the country progressive and to maintain peace and justice. They work differently but are interconnected. For example, the executive branch creates or thinks about the rules to be implemented. They plan and think about what’s the best thing to be done to solve an issue. After they finish their work, it will be passed to the judicial branch which validates or approves the laws submitted by the executive. It is their work to filter and choose the best and right rule for the country. And for the implementation of that rule, the legislative branch is the one concerned. They release rules which will then be followed by all citizens. This is how the Malaysian government works in order to make sure that everything is in order.
For you to understand more, legislative is divided into federal and state legislature or the upper and the lower house. The lower house consists of the representative, that is why it is called the house of the representative or house of the people. On the other hand, the upper house is composed of the senate also called the chamber of nation. All the chairpersons who sit in their positions are all appointed by their king with the help of the prime minister. Each of them will have a maximum of three years in their position and a minimum of two years, but will leave their position when the king tells them to do so especially when it is advised by the prime minister.
Executive power is led by prime minister and then followed by various ministers of the cabinet. But their difference is that these cabinet members are not allowed to intervene in the legislative and judicial branches. In the executive branch, they made several policies or rules on how their economy will increase, crime rates will decrease and other country rules will progress. The judiciary branch which is the independent among the other two branches of the state works by criticizing or deciding whether a person will be in prison or will be freed. Persons who are accused of committing a crime will not be in jail unless told by the king. They are given a chance to prove that they are innocent with the help of their lawyers and it is up to the judiciary section to decide if a person will be in jail or not. There are also different kinds of courts based on the crime committed and the person who committed it. Syariah Courts is the only court that is separated among civil courts because they only decide on the Malaysian Muslims cases.
